![]() ![]() (Good thing my mobo comes with an attached IO shield, or I probably would have made that noob mistake too)Ĥ.) If you are installing 140mm fans with the Phanteks Halo RGB fan frames on the top, it will be a very tight squeeze to for them between the top of the case and the mobo. Due to the relatively compact nature of the Meshify C and the huge size of the Noctua NH-D15, make sure you connect the CPU 8 pin connect first. My solution was to buy a 'low profile' usb 3.0 cable from amazon, though I've read that people either didn't connect it or took the drastic step of dremmeling the grommet itself to a bigger size.ģ.) I guess this should be common sense, but it tripped me up and cost me a bit of pain the first time. The cable connector header jis too bulky by like half an inch to fit properly. You have JUST enough room to do that without touching the glass, we're talking a few mm)Ģ.) Not sure if this problem is for all Asus ROG Maximus X boards, but with the Formula X and the Fractal Design Meshify C case, the USB 3.0 front panel cable that comes with the case will not fit through the grommet and into the right side of the mobo (the USB 3.0 connecter on the mobo is right below the 24pin power. So I already knew going into this that I would not be able to use the default fan configuration with the RAM I selected without moving the fan up on the fin stack to allow for enough RAM clearance, but since I wanted to showcase the RGB RAM, I opted to move both fans to a pull configuration, and moved the right most fan to the left fin stack (due to the mobo IO shield/vram cover, I still needed to move the fan a bit towards the glass side). So here are some of the issues I ran into with this specific build, maybe it can help someone out that's doing something similar:ġ.) This is an issue that a lot of people seem to run into with the Noctua NH-D15 Cooler. The theme/look I was going for this build was all black with air cooling that could handle OC on the 8700k. I ran into some minor issues with this build, but overall it was a lot of fun and I'm kind of sad it's now over :p Having not kept up with current hardware, I spent a lot of time looking through PCPartPicker, /r/buildapc, and getting advice from friends. I actually built this a few weeks back, but finally getting around to posting pictures. The last time I built a PC was in 2010, and I felt it was time for an upgrade. Its a choice but i still have it for XX amount of days still or until other criteria spoke to occurs. For me in my own situation paying double the price to slightly upgrade doesn't make sense to me so I don't. Yes they are no longer producing any gpu's moving forward that doesn't mean one can't take advantage of programs they have stock for and again EVGA stated they would honor such as long as they can period.Ī persons individual reason is there own for doing so even if you don't agree with it. They still sell GPU's (retail and direct with already prioduced cards). They still honor any 3k series cards and step up while they have stock (and they do have stock according to them as well as stock for RMA's currently) Not indefinitely, no one ever said that and why would they warranty a card they do not intend to make?įYI I can still do a step up on my EVGA account they will honor it for what they have stock of. English not your fist language? Nothing to misunderstand yet you found a way.ĮVGA has a statement about the above and more publicly available one should have gone read/watched it as it clearly tells you instead of your word salad above and the I'm mad Bruhh attitude. ![]()
